ORP Electrodes ORP (or redox) electrodes are used for measuring oxidation/reduction potentials using the mV scale of a pH meter. The sensing electrode is made from a noble metal, usually platinum, though gold works better in some applications. The metal is configured into a ball, rod or flat disc shape and the reference system is identical to that used in pH electrodes. Thermo Scientific can also make different shapes and dimensions on request. All fixed cable electrodes have a one meter cable as standard.
Gold Electrodes Gold electrodes are used for ORP (or Redox) measurements in highly oxidising samples, such as dichromates, aluminum sulphate, and some cyanide, cadmium or zinc containing compounds. |
