The opportunities to measure in the production process directly differ from that in the laboratory. There are demands for a fast and easy measurement (e.g. to control a dryer) with a high accuracy. The measurements of the moisture should be worked out without additional weighing or density determination. In this field the patented method of  Tews Elektronik shows a lot of advantages in comparisation with other methods. 

There are two different instruments for process control available. The MW 3260 with a planar sensor will be integrated into the production stream directly. The possibility to use different planar sensors leads to a higher accuracy of the measurement. The bypass system MW 3200 takes samples via a system of valves automatically for a batch measurement of the production stream. 

The Planar Sensors are developed for industrial applications. Their rugged ceramic surface and the pentration of the whole measured product volume by the microwave field supplies accurate results. The patented microwave measuring method enables the determination of both, core and surface moisture content independent of denisty, colour and surface structure of the measured material. Based on the compact construction and the high degree of protection they can be installed at many places in the production line.
